The coffee shop is the baby of Hamzeh Mahmoud, one of the owners of Fresno-based Q29 Roastery. Our mission is to enhance this experience through consumer education, a scientific process to quality and an approachable tone. Alchemist Coffee Lab opened in mid-December. Our idea is that Los Angeles has so much diversity, and even though we know we won’t be able to satisfy everyone, we should at least as professionals be able to pull out the best from classic, minimal drinks to fun, special drinks. To share in this experience is a distinct privilege. We kept the drink as we rebranded to Alchemist Coffee Project because people just loved it. Unfortunately the staff leave a lot to be desired. The coffee is excellent quality, sourced ethically and worth paying the slightly above-average price. Alchemy is a quaint coffee shop on Barrack street with a bohemian decor and an ambient atmosphere. Downtown Greenville has street parking available as well as several nearby parking garages. People’s relationship to coffee is personal and intimate: it’s where function and emotion intersect. Great coffee, nice decor, terrible service.
